Step3

Review the Performance Fee Structure, which offers a referral rate of 4 to 10 percent based on the total number of items shipped from Amazon.com and its third-party sellers. The Associates site offers a rate tier chart as well as details regarding caps on specific items.

Complete the registration process, which requires information about your website, as well as checking account information for payment from Amazon.com and federal tax identification information, if applicable.

• If your site has traffic from Canada or the U.K., link to both Amazon-Canada and Amazon-U.K. If someone in England uses a link to Amazon.com and then realizes he needs to go through Amazon U.K., you won't get credit for possible sales.
• Spend some time looking around the Amazon stores for specific items that might appeal to your visitors.
