Therefore, the chances those people to click at our article is high which lead to increase in blog traffic drastically.
Actually I am still new in this area. After I had gone through all the tips in the internet, I found out that most of them are the same.
Because of that, I have taken initiative to compile all of the SEO tips all around the internet as I do believe it is crucial for online business and blogging. Finally, the Top 23 Tips of SEO You Must Know has come out.
There are:
1. Check the Popularity of Keywords
In order to obtain traffic from keyword searches on the major search engines like Google and Yahoo!, you need to be writing about a topic that people want to read about and are actively looking for information about.
One of the easiest ways to get a basic idea of what people are looking for online is to check the popularity of keyword searches on websites like Wordtracker, Google AdWords, Google Trends or the Yahoo! Buzz Index. Each of these sites provides a snapshot of keyword popularity at any given time.
If you have extra cash in your pocket, Keyworddiscovery.com and Wordtracker.com have always been the two biggest paid ones. However, Keyword Discovery is currently offering a free keyword search tool. There was a good article in Search Marketing Standard comparing the pros and cons of each.
It’s also good for finding those long-tail keywords. In case you are wondering, the long-tail is the 5-7 word longer key phrases that are less popular. A lot of marketers have found it very beneficial to target these large amounts of longer phrases than the few extremely popular ones. I will blog more about this another time.
Incorporating related words and phrasing to your targeted keyword is very important to spiders. MSN recently released adCenter Labs. There is a tool on here called “Search Result Clustering” which is great for finding related keywords to your main keyword. The caveat is there data is based of their top 10 results for your keyword. MSN ranks sites differently than Google. MSN results tend to favor on-page SEO and Google tends to favor off-page SEO.
2. Select Specific and Relevant Keywords
A good rule to go by is to select one keyword phrase per page then optimize that page to that keyword phrase. Keywords should be relevant to the overall content of your page.
Furthermore, choose specific keywords that are more likely to give you a better search results ranking than a broad term would. For example, consider how many sites use the keyword phrase of “punk music.” The competition for ranking using that keyword is likely to be tough. If you choose a more specific keyword like “Green Day concert,” the competition is a lot easier.
3. Select a Keyword Phrase of 2 or 3 Words
Statistics show that nearly 60% of keyword searches include 2 or 3 keywords. With that in mind, try to optimize your pages for searches on keyword phrases of 2 or 3 words to drive the biggest results.
4. Use Your Keyword Phrase in Your Title
Once you select the keyword phrase you plan to optimize your page for, make sure you use that phrase in the title of your blog post (or page) - otherwise only keywords in URL won’t work.
Try to add keywords in your post URL’s those will bring search engine traffic for your site. As
Keep the URL length short up to 4 words in domain name and up to 7 words in post slug that incorporate with your main keywords and you branding. Keywords and branding should be separated in titles with either a dash – or a pipe |. Some bloggers lean towards pipes since dashes are also used in breaking up words.
